Victoria is an assistant solicitor in the employment team and advises on both contentious and non-contentious employment law. On the contentious side, she advises clients on how to deal with unfair dismissal and discrimination cases, advising on all stages including the final hearing.  She has a particular interest in discrimination claims and misconduct dismissals. Her non-contentious practice covers drafting employment contracts, director’s service agreements, compromise agreements and consultancy agreements. Victoria has experience acting for and assisting with cases for clients from a variety of sectors including recruitment, transport and education. Recent examples of work undertaken include:

  • Assisting in successfully defending a race discrimination claim against a large local business.
  • Preparing pro forma contracts of employment and internal policies.
  • Guiding an individual through a complicated grievance and disciplinary procedure.
  • Advising a business on the suitability and compliance of their pre-employment health questionnaire with the Equality Act.
  • Helping a business through a difficult redundancy process.

Victoria joined Henmans LLP in 2009 as a trainee and recently qualified into the employment team. Prior to joining Henmans Victoria worked for Bristol City Council and at Gregg Latchams WRH.
Victoria is a member of the Solicitors International Human Rights Group and the Black Solicitors Network. She writes and publishes articles on a range of employment subjects including the Agency Workers Regulations 2010.
