There is no doubt that the trustees carry the ultimate responsibility for the organisation (in unincorporated bodies the trustees liability is unlimited). As regulation of the third sector and society in general increases, our aim is to ensure that our trustee clients are able to find their way through the legal minefield in an efficient and effective manner. To enable them to do this we provide pro-active advice wherever possible to ensure that trustees are aware of their responsibilities or alternatively can consider them in view of the circumstances which have arisen.
Examples of the ways we can help:
- Working with clients to ensure that sufficient training is available for their trustees
- Advising trustees as part of the charity formation process.
- Advising on ways in which liability can be limited through structure.
- Sending trustees appropriate legal updates, specific to the third sector and otherwise.
- Helping resolve disputes and assisting in any investigation or enquiry process.
