Our team


Our dispute resolution department is one of the largest litigation teams in the South East outside London.  We are recognised as one of the leading teams in the Thames Valley in both the Chambers and Legal 500 directories.  Many of the team have joined from City and national firms.  One of our partners is a CEDR accredited mediator.

How can we help?

As part of a full service firm, we pride ourselves in being able to offer dispute resolution services across all of our core areas of practice.  We cover a range of business and individual needs.  We have particular expertise in handling disputes falling within the following practice areas:

  • Commercial disputes: breakdown of relationships within companies and partnerships (including claims by directors and shareholders), contract and tort claims, construction disputes, breach of warranty claims and disputes involving insolvency, intellectual property, product liability and reputation management
  • Property disputes: commercial and residential landlord and tenant matters, eviction of squatters, boundary and neighbour disputes, disputes over title, leasehold enfranchisement, compulsory purchase
  • Professional indemnity: claims against legal, construction, financial and other professionals
  • Probate and trust disputes: will disputes, claims against a deceased’s estate and trust disputes, acting for both beneficiaries and trustees.

Our approach

We are noted for our commercial, pragmatic and innovative approach in developing solutions to difficult problems.  We work together to ensure that the recommendations we make to you are joined-up, focused and realistic.  We aim to resolve disputes efficiently and cost effectively. 

We make a point of handling claims proactively at a senior level, with closely supervised assistance from more junior solicitors where appropriate. 

Our best results are often achieved by informal discussions, negotiation or mediation.  However, we recognise that sometimes court proceedings are unavoidable: we have extensive experience of dealing with litigation in all forums including county and high courts.
