Henmans forges links with China

23 July 2010

Henmans has been delighted to host 25 delegates from China’s Ministry of Justice this week. The senior lawyers and judges attended Henmans’ offices for a talk on law in the UK,  a Q&A with senior lawyers and a tour of the offices.

The group has been in the UK for three weeks and has visited many places including court buildings, prisons and forensics laboratories in a comprehensive tour of the UK’s justice system, as well as the University of Oxford. The group was delighted that Anthony Henman was able to join senior lawyers at Henmans to welcome them, as Tim Henman, Anthony’s son, is very highly regarded in China.

Julia Iball, managing partner at Henmans, commented, “It was a privilege and a pleasure to show the Chinese delegation round our offices – their enthusiasm was infectious and we were extremely happy to explain some of the work that we do here. China is obviously a very important part of the world economy and will have more and more of an impact on business in this country.”

Richard Shallard, senior partner added, “It was a great opportunity to give these visitors to the UK an insight into aspects of our legal system.  We believe that strong links with other countries can only help both parties achieve greater mutual understanding.”
