Nigel advises a broad range of domestic and international clients (individuals, institutions and landed estates) on tax and trust planning; trust management and modification both onshore and offshore, complex estate administrations; literary estates; heritage property; charity issues and court of protection issues.
As well as heading the team advising private clients he heads the cross-practice charities group. He is a trustee of many private trusts and is clerk to the trustees of a substantial local charity.
Nigel trained at Lightfoots and qualified in 1989. He joined Morrell, Peel & Gamlen in 1990 and became a partner there, then moved to Boodle Hatfield where he was also a partner. He joined Henmans as a partner in 2003.
He is a member of the Charity Law Association, the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners; the Law Society's group for Lawyers for Persons with a Learning Disability; the Land Trusts Association and the Law Society Probate Section. Nigel lectures widely on tax and trust matters.
The Legal 500 Legal Experts directory ranks Nigel among its top experts for private client work outside London. Nigel also acts as a judicial trustee and independent administrator in cases that are in dispute. Nigel speaks German.
