Esther’s practice includes dealing with property disputes, professional indemnity disputes, commercial disputes and contentious trust and probate disputes.  She handles landlord and tenant matters, disputes as to ownership of land, debt recovery matters, company and partnership disputes as well as claims arising out of the work of solicitors and other professionals.

Esther deals with matters proceeding in the County Court, High Court and before the land Registry Adjudicator, and has effectively resolved matters using both mediation and expert determination.

Esther’s recent case highlights include:

  • Boundary disputes, including those raising issues of adverse possession.
  • Landlord and tenant matters, including recovery of rent, breaches of covenants, possession proceedings and leasehold enfranchisement, advising both tenants and landlords of both commercial and residential properties.
  • Advice as to enforcement of judgments and available options in respect of pursuing debtors for recovery, including bankruptcy, charging orders, third party debt orders, etc.
  • Defending solicitor in litigation advanced by investors concerning allegations of negligent advice relating to split capital investment trusts.
  • Three party litigation involving alleged negligent advice on the part of a solicitor in relation to the sale of a business from one partner to another, settled on favourable terms at mediation.
  • High-value litigation solicitor’s negligence concerning seller’s alleged loss of chance to generate a significant profit in a joint venture with third party.
  • Defending solicitor in high-value litigation arising from alleged negligent advice concerning failed development project.

Esther trained at Henmans and qualified in 2005. She is a member of the Junior Lawyers Division and provides regular pro bono advice at the Oxford Citizens Advice Bureau. Esther speaks French.

During 2007/8 Esther sat as the young solicitor member of the Law Society's working party examining forthcoming changes to the LPC.
