Carolyn Lowe

Carolyn is experienced in a wide range of clinical negligence cases. She specialises particularly in child brain injury cases, complex orthopaedic cases and gynaecological claims. She also currently represents several families of patients who have died as a result of alleged clinical negligence and she advises them in relation to Inquests and Coronial law.
 
Carolyn's recently settled cases have included:

• H v Milton Keynes NHS Foundation Trust (shoulder injury)
• JN v Oxford Radcliffe Hospitals NHS Trust (excision of a sarcoma)
• M v Oxford Radcliffe NHS Trust (sigmoid colon)
• Multi-million pound settlement for brain damaged child (16 November 2011)
• Damages for undiagnosed septic arthritis (28 September 2011)
• Verdict of death by misadventure (8 April 2011)
• £750,000 damages for negligent knee surgery (20 April 2011) 
• a high value orthopaedic claim, Karen Saunders v Luton & Dunstable NHS Foundation Trust. Carolyn acted for a lady who suffered severe complications following negligently performed foot surgery. The operation was carried out by a surgeon brought over from France to cut waiting lists. Article in Daily Mail.
• a neonatal death following obstetric negligence

Carolyn also has experience in representing patients who have been sexually assualted in the healthcare environment.

Carolyn trained at Stewarts in London and qualified in 1996. She worked at Stewarts and Portner & Jaskel in London, then Pictons in Milton Keynes. She joined Henmans as an associate in 2009.  Carolyn is accredited by the Law Society as a clinical negligence specialist and by APIL (the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers) as a Senior Litigator.
